Perhaps best known for his role in initiating the world famous Harmonic Convergence global peace meditation of August 16-17, 1987, Jose was also one of the originators of the Earth Day concept and is recognized as the “father of the Whole Earth Festival,” now in its 33rd year at Davis, California. Holding a Ph.D. in art history and aesthetics from the University of Chicago (1969), José’s career as an educator has included professorships at Princeton University, University of California Davis, the Evergreen State College, Olympia Washington, the Naropa Institute, San Francisco State University, the University of Colorado and the Union Graduate School. An artist as well as an author, his numerous books include the international best seller, The Mayan factor, Earth Ascending, Surfers of the Zuvuya, the Arcturus Probe and the recently published Time and the Technosphere, The law of Time in Human Affairs. A spiritual seeker, Jose studied Tibetan Buddhism for many years with noted meditation master, Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche, yet feels it is important to break out of the shell of all organized religion and establish what he calls a “return to UR -the Universal religion.” But it is his pioneering work on the Mayan Calendar that has absorbed his energies most passionately. Good Point. But you may have Fear and Common-sense, slightly mixed up.
It is due to ones level of conditioned Common-sense, that generally keeps one out of harms way. Whilst on the other hand, Fear simply prohibits us from ever venturing forth into the darkened unknown! Thanks for the comment!

I believe that fear is there to protect us . Like fearing getting in a car and doing 150 mph. I drive very fast at times at a drag strip and have road the adrenalin rush from doing that. There is a huge fear Dragon that I tame at that moment where fear is trying to stop you from killing yourself. You cant let fear dominate you but you have the power to dominate fear. And it brings out the great courage in all of us !!!

FEAR! should not be something that we should run from, hide from, nor should we try with futile attempts, to avoid ever feeling it, but rather we sould bravely face it, look deeply into it, untill we realise that it is our fear! of FEAR itself, that actually frightens us!

Hey dont be scared, its okay. If you saw a ufo in the sky would you be scared or would you be joyfull? i would be neither because to make up my mind without realy knowing what it was would be proposterous. Its the same with 2012 for me but i focus on joy and well being purely because its what i want for us all. Please dont be scared, your mind is so powerfull that you can manifest anything that you want, lets focus on love aye?

Changing to the Mayan calender seems like harmony, I was curious, why did the incas, mayans, aztecs, and the druids disappear? Did they move to another level of experience from our physical experience, simply die mysteriously or both. Does following this vibration open up cosmic opportunities for advancement?
