Helen Mirren and Julie Walters star as Chris and Annie, two bored WI members spurred into action when the latter’s husband (John Alderton) dies of leukaemia. To raise money for the hospital where he was treated, the women persuade their pals to strip for a saucy charity calendar.

I understand. It’s really hard to know.
My mum had cancer, but unfortunately her body wasn’t so strong.
We fight with her till the end.
I am very happy to have achieved!
I also love sunflowers, are the flowers of hope!

The scene with Julie in the waiting room is very true; I have had cancer & I was glad that my mum was with me because I just went numb as they told us about the steps they were going to do to get rid of it. I was glad that my body was strong enough to fight it so I can’t imagine being told that your body is not strong enough & there is nothing that they could do about it.
P.S. The speech that Julie’s husband wrote is so beautiful! It is true that sunflowers are a wonderful flower.
