If you completely ignore the spiritual, these are the same cats that believe we need to lower the population of the earth by 80-90% to keep it “viable” (easier to rule). So, they get wind of a huge disaster looming. They even have narrowed down when. They can’t tell the public for the panic that would ensue. The public also would bombard known facilities as well before the happening. Keep the public exposed, they are safe inside, BAM FREE POPULATION REDUCTION. Problem solved.
